How
many people attended?
Jamie
Well there were about 550 people that attended and we actually sold about 400
tickets so the other people that attended were sponsors and other people involved
in the day
How much did you raise?
Mike
We raised over £1000 for 4 charities. 3 in Heaton Moor and St Johns ambulance.
What did you think of the bands on the day?
Russ
I thought they were wicked
Jamie
Without the bands that were there it couldn't of been the day it was, you know
what I mean?
Russ
The line up ran really way and the it built up to the headliners that were wicked.
Jamie
We had a nice mixture of bands I thought really.
Russ
A nice variety of music, something for all the family {laughs}.
What feedback have you received, from bands, sponsors,
charities, and public?
Jamie
Nothing but praises really {laughs} but it was a brilliant day, we couldn't of
asked for anything more really.
What's your association with the Fubar night in Manchester?
Mike
Well Fubar is just another part of Pickled Music Collective which is just a regular
night at Zumbar.
Russ
We have done other nights before down at Dry Bar.
Jamie
There quite big nights really, quite up and coming,a few of them work here in
Town Bar believe it or not but there doing really well so we decided to bring
them in on it. Next year they are going to do their own big tent so its going
to be even bigger and better.
Was it as big a success as you imagined. Did it surpass
your expectations?
Jamie
Without a doubt!
Russ
Especially with the weather as well, i thought about 2 o'clock if it stays like
this then it's going to be s*%t and no ones going to have a good time.
Mike
In many ways i think the weather helped, it brought everyone into the marque together
What are the plans for next year?
Do you see it becoming a much bigger or an annual event? Or both?
Russ
Both! {laughs}
Jamie
Basically what were going to do next year is make it a more family orientated
affair in the daytime so it will be alot busier all day then when it moves into
the night people can either keep their kids there or take them home and get a
baby-sitter or whatever they want to do.
Russ
We'll be looking to get some bigger bands next year.
Mike
I think the biggest advantage next year will be the second marque, one more dance
orientated and one for the bands and a more family feel.
Jamie
We might have a big stage yet, i mean that's the plan, i mean who knows, bigger
the better really.
What happened to Mani?
All laugh
Russ
He turned us down for the rolling stones, can you believe that {laughs} No seriously,
the gigs got canceled and re arranged for that weekend and with Primal Scream
supporting he had no choice.
What other events are pickled music involved in, in
the near future?
Mike
Well we did a few events before the night it's self so in the future Ii think
were just going to carry on, try to get a residency at Dry Bar
Russ
We have a saturday night at dry bar in the beginning of november and then the
moor fest reunion!
Jamie
Its a cheesy name but its going to get the people there and that's what's important.
Russ
It was just such a good combination of bands that we thought we would get them
together again, in the other nights of course were going to get some different
bands but we thought it would be nice just to get everyone back together because
at the end of the day it felt like it didn't last long enough, we would of loved
it to have been a couple of days.
Jamie
A bit of camping! {laughs}
What can local people do to support the events in the
future?
Russ
Come again and go crazy.
Jamie
Come again, have as good time as the people that were there, i mean the day was
perfect we couldn't of asked for anything better as we say but keep coming.
What can local businesses do to support these events?
Jamie
Well as you know there were over 20 local businesses that got involved, there
were other bushiness that wanted and we wanted to get involved but at that point
we were working to a two week deadline as we had to fit it all into three months.
Next time we are going to start at Christmas, which means we have a lot more time
to get all the sponsorship sorted, more businesses, more money, meaning we can
do bigger and better things.
Russ
We don't ask a lot from them.
Jamie
£100 and you get two free tickets.
Russ
All the free beer and free food.
Jamie
All the sponsors are there to do is help the day go ahead, I mean after that they
can just leave it to us and we'll make the day go ahead, take the money and get
the money for the charities. I mean next year more money for the charities, alot
more, all the people that weren't there this year will want to be there next year
and the people there this year will want to be there again.
Russ
Were looking at a couple of different venues, i mean it was a great venue but
something might come up that's even more suited.
Jamie
Hopefully the plan is for the rugby club next year but we have to see what the
residents think, there was only a couple of residents that complained this year
but hopefully they can be persuaded.
Russ
Watch out for new years eve as well, we might be able to get something sorted.
Jamie
Its only 3 months again but with the short time we had i think we did quite well
really.
Russ
There are a few plans there.
Jamie
The actual event this year cost us 6000 pounds which is quite alot of money and
we still managed to make the money that we did in the end which is not a bad effort.
Most promoters that do these events in all areas would be quite happy breaking
even but we've actually made a lot more money than we could of done and were happy
with what we've done.
Mike
Definitely
There's a reunion? Who's invited?
Mike
Everyone's invited
Jamie
Everyone that was there and everyone that should of been there! {laughs}
