Stockports Travel Charter
This November Stockport Council launched Stockports Travel Charter. The Charter sets out a joint commitment between the Council and the Public Utility companies, BT and Transco, to work together to minimise disruption on local roads, while improving services to residents, businesses and visitors to Stockport.

Mayor Greets Children from Chernobyl
Stockport's Mayor, Councillor Kenneth Holt, played host at the Town Hall on Tuesday 9th December to 15 youngsters from Belarus, one of the areas most affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
Aged between eight and 15, the children are spending the month in the North West, and will experience an English Christmas.
The Mayor hosted the visit in the Council Chambers and spent some of the time playing games with them.
